shareThe horse probably wasn’t real but some kind of symbolic/dreamed up stuff.
To what end? I have no idea.

thanks for posting this link. I split my sides laughing!
shareThe white horse is the pale horse. It symbolizes death.
shareI actually thought the scene meant that Arya WAS dead, and that the horse was there to take her to Valhalla or something!
But she wasn't dead, she was there the next episode, and if she wasn't dead the scene was completely pointless. Just throwing a Ridiculously Photogenic Horse into a battle scene, where it did nothing but make me complain about its behavior.
Sure. Christian symbolism was a bit out of place in a fantasy world with dragons. However, everyone knows what pale horse means so it's a universal symbol now. Death of the city, death around Arya, Arya herself as a deathbringer, Valor Margulis etc. - all are encapsulated in this horse. Was it an impressive scene or was it pointless? For me, it was neither. Just some horse among the ruins.
shareJust some horse among the ruins that didn't panic when a giant predator flew overhead, like a real horse with a real horse's prey-animal instincts would have.
Maybe it was deaf and blind?
shareDeafness would be extremely convenient in a war horse! Blindness, less so, although I have heard that some knights would put partial blinders on their horses during battles, so they wouldn't shy if attacked from the side.
But no, that was just another hash of an S8 scene, one that added nothing to the plot and confused the fans.
You didn't see it again because everybody done died
