Wowza. Needed a few days to process.
I wonder who rang the bells, since Cersei didn't appear to order it. Almost thought Jaime.
Still wondering if Cersei was really pregnant. When she segued from "I want our baby to live" to "I want to live," it almost felt like she was confessing to Jaime. However, I don't think she was lying, that'd be an awfully big lie to trust you can deliver (haha) on within a certain timetable. I wanted her death to be more drawn-out and painful, but I guess it was fitting for her to see everything literally crumble around her. Plus, she would've remained smug during a public execution, making is less satisfying. So at least she died scared. They made her seem like a little kid, begging Jaime to not let her die, over which he had no control. I could almost see them as young children trying to escape Tywin's wrath for something. They did it because they wanted to kill her in a way to make it sympathetic, and really drive home the fact that they turned the show on its head as now we'd probably all agree that it would've been best for Cersei's reign to just continue after all rather than ending it like that. Also thought of Ellaria when the Keep fell.
Dany should've just stayed in Meereen. I initially thought Dany was upset at the bells because at that point, she didn't want to end it without violence, she wanted to kill Cersei and was upset at losing the chance, and maybe the expectation of showing Cersei mercy. Of course she didn't go after Cersei. I think she did it because she knows the truth about Jon is getting out, and the people will want him, and his claim is stronger, so she was also at a point of "If I can't have King's Landing, no one can." Ironically, she only cleared the path for him to take rulership blamelessly, as he didn't do all the crazy stuff she did.
Of course Arya's the only survivor in a whole area. Oh character shields.
