...then who's going to deal with Drogon? A wild and feral fire-breathing dragon will be difficult to kill, especially if you've just killed its mother.
Maybe Drogon will shatter like the white walkers when Dany is killed. It's season 8 so it doesn't need to make sense.

shareIf it happens, it will be some bs where Drogon doesn't lay waste to whoever does it because he kinda forgot that he's all alone in the world without Dany.
shareBetcha Jon kills the dragon. Dany is nothing without it, and she dies shortly thereafter.
I'd also bet a reasonable amount of money that Jon proves to be dragon-fire-proof, even though he wasnt fireproof in the early seasons, and burned his hand badly when killing a wight. The writers have gotten that sloppy.
I'm more curious about how they follow through on this coup if Dany keeps Drogon close by.... sort of like a body guard.
But then again...many things I wondered about this season came to nothing.
