Jamie and Cersei Spoilers

So I had some mixed feelings on their death. It was anti climatic, it robed so many characters a revenge killing on Cersie, and this made Jamie's redemption arch become completely meaningless. However, after thinking about it, it is actually a very fitting death for them. The Lanister twins were always seeking glory and the had risen to the utmost heights. Instead of dying in glory, they are buried in an unmarked grave, with no fan fare or greatness surrounding them, just cold stone and earth. Their great family all but snuffed out in a blink of an eye.

In some ways its very similar to how their father died, the most powerful man in the kingdom dies on the toilet.

I'm guessing the 'valonqar' theory didn't really come true either.

I guess that’s why they didn’t put it in the show. When mentioning the seer and her prophesies, they just mentioned her marriage, three children that will all die and her being overthrown by a younger, more beautiful queen. Nothing about the valonqar if I remember correctly.

That's a shame too. I wanted her death to be somewhat shocking and horrid. Instead it was bland and unsatisfying.

I see what you're saying, but I still hated what they did. Ruining Jaimes character arc is unforgivable. Like the night king, it made 8 seasons of character development obsolete. Jaime didnt have to change as a character at all. What was the point? And the lannisters could have lost everything in a much more satisfying way. All in all, other than watching the destruction of kings landing, it was still an unsatisfying episode ruining years of character development.

Well like I said it was mixed feelings for me. Jamie had become one of my favorite characters so it was a little jarring to know nothing he did mattered to his character. I could have thought of a few hundred ways to kill off Cersei that would have been more satisfying, but once I got past that, I just meant there was a little bit of poetic justice in the end result.

I don't disagree with your take on it, and I think we probably had very similar feelings right after we were done watching it.

I thought the episode was great, but hated Cersei's death. She deserved to get what was coming to her - I didn't care who did it, just that they could look her in the eye and say "payback"!!

I agree with all I think that we wanted some to get a revenge killing on Cersie. As for Jamie, I don't mind his death. Yes we can talk about his character arc, but in the end he died with the person he cared about the most. Family is family.

Cersei's death was much too easy. Very unsatisfying.

Indeed! After 8 years of her being the evil queen...she deserved something more horrid.

All in all, her death was just another brick in the wall.
