Syrio Forel will save Arya.

At the Battle of Kings Landing when all seems lost, he will make his return at last.

reply

I had this same thought the other day lol
That would be great but I doubt it will happen

reply

Yeah i think there would be carnage on here ha.

reply

Forel's return would be ridiculous and awesome
I aint the only one thinking his 'death' was off screen and a return could happen

I doubt it though;)

reply

if that's the case then Stannis should make an appearance as well as he died off screen too.

reply

No
Not the same
He very clearly got his head taken

reply

No, not the same,

Meryn Trant was the only one who left that encounter alive so clearly he got his life taken. Touché.

reply

Can’t Syrio have escaped?

reply

I wish but...no:(

reply

He could’ve but why would he? The point was to take care of Trant, not to turn tail & run.

What would Arya have thought if he did flee?

reply

Probably thank him when he saves her from Cersei.

reply

That would be amazing! I always thought he didn’t die.

reply

Yeah he’s definitely been slinking around the dungeons waiting for his chance.

reply

If that happens, he's going to turn out to be Jacqen Hagar in disguise. Guaranteed!!!

Maybe he was Jacquen in disguise all along.

reply

Jacquen has so many faces, who knows which are the disguises and who is the reality, and does it really matter? I vividly recall that there was there was an agonized scream of pain seconds after a very young Arya fled the scene of her water-dancing sword teacher facing off with a wooden sword against a swarm of metal sword-wielding oafs. First, masters such as Syrio do not scream like a little child. Masters embrace death as being inevitable. Oafs scram like stuck pigs. I believe, for substantial rational reasons, and not just because “I wanna,” that Syrio conquered, prevailed, and thrived. Second, do NOT underestimate the lethal effectiveness of a wooden sword. Musashi Myamoto, the greatest, most celebrated Samurai in history, defeated and killed his most dread opponent with a katana that he carved from a boat oar. A steel sword is remarkably fragile. If it does not attack or block the opponent’s blade PERFECTLY, it bends or even breaks, rendering the weapon useless. A wood blade can hack away, precision be damned, and can shatter your skull in a trice.

I would welcome Syrio saving Arya yet again, and then she turns around and rescues her master. “The greatest honor that a student can give to her/his Teacher is to surpass the Teacher.”

Yeah, I would really love that.

reply

I would love to think that it wasn't Syrio who screamed like a stuck pig, and that he somehow survived and made his escape. And considering that the Stark quarters were under attack, it's entirely possible that it was someone else, others were certainly attacked. However, it's entirely possible that it was Syrio, and that even a Master screams involuntarily when he's had an arm hacked off or something.

But yeah, Jacquen will see Arya again, one way or another. She can't take power from a Death Cult, and expect them to let her walk away and live her life.

reply

Yes it would have to be him. The music for them both was the same.
