S8 E4 Jaimie decision (spoilers )

Why did Jaimie leave for King's Landing? Is he crazy or is it bad writing? He's leaving a warm bed with a hot broad who just gave up her virginity for him. Also, his sister has put out a bounty on his head. Is he going back to help his sister or is he going back to kill her? His explanation to Brienne sounded like he was going back to stand by his sister's side but this same woman now wants him dead.

It's a suicide mission. She may or may not still be carrying his baby. He wants to talk her down, even though he knows it's very unlikely. If she's not pregnant, he could end up killing her. I doubt he would do it otherwise.
