What the hell was that? A child could have written this season. There's no way this is how the books end. It's like a completely different story now, all the main characters have plot armor, there's no intrigue or mystery or surprises, it's just goodies beating the baddies with cheezy piano music. Fucking Arya became a master ninja assassin out of nowhere because she spent 1 episode fighting another little girl. This is just embarrassing to watch

shareThere had to be a payoff for Arya becoming an assassin. The Starks have been under heel or targeted for so long they needed the help of the most determined fighters, and Arya could deliver the necessary blow to end the Night King and his plans. Clearly the frontal assault and castle defence was a bloodbath despite the relative strength of the fighters and military tactics including special weapons. Arya had a special ability to covertly attack where open combat failed. The Night King was caught off guard, allowing her to come right up to him and having no option but to engage her rather than order his forces to attack her and keep her at a distance (such as with the case of Jon Snow elsewhere in the castle).
shareI am surprised more top-level characters didn't die. I thought we'd at least see one or two get axed. They should've done that just for the sake of reminding everyone of the stakes in this show.

I think you're wrong about Arya, though. She's been trained by the best and has killed a lot of people. Her reputation as a deadly assassin was set up quite well.
