They only said some of the episodes would be in that ballpark. And they said this during the process of putting together the scripts, before they even started shooting it.
shareIt took them two years to create an abbreviated season?? I guess since the source material ran out, they have been panicking and have been trying to race to the finish. Well, they put it in fast forward *after* that abomination that was the 5th season. I don't think D&D trust themselves to tell anything more than a supertight story until they get to the end, so no full seasons.
They covered everything they needed to cover in Episode 1. Could have added 5 or 10 minutes of Jaime fighting white walkers though.
shareAnd when it gets edited down for normal TV syndication and you cram in the commercials it will be 90 minutes per episode.
shareAnyone who watches a show like this in syndication on commercial channels deserves whatever crap they decide to do with the shows.
shareHBO won't ever syndicate this show
shareThey will... it might be 10 years, but the lure of making money off of it will eventually put it out there like every other show. The reality is it isn't going to be a show you want to watch over and over because once you know who dies it takes a lot of the tension out episodes.
shareI wouldnt be so sure. HBO has gone thru a few changes in recent years.
