This isn't a big thing, or even something that really bothers me.
I always expected Jorah would stay in Essos and be lurking in a Free City looking for this, completely caught me off guard where he did go. Anyone else thought he'd go elsewhere?
Jorah knows a lot about the world, especially some of the more obscure cultures in Essos. If he heard of a cure in Essos, I expect he would go there, but on the other hand, his clock is ticking. Instead of wasting time asking around, he went to where the world's knowledge is kept. The Citadel probably offered his best chance at survival.
