Thoughts/Questions on S7E6

1. Well, they're finally showing travel time, everyone who complained about teleporting. Some nice banter between those heroes North of the Wall. Some humor.

2. Arya is definitely acting weird and creepy recently. I did like her sweet little story about Ned watching her shoot; that part seemed in character.

3. Why did Sansa send Brienne south? I don't get her logic.

4. I don't like the rift growing Dany and Tyrion. That is not good. The scene started out decently, with Dany complimenting Tyrion in an odd way, but as soon as they started talking politics it went way down hill.

5. The battle scene was epic, but heartbreaking. I made a whole thread on what's wrong with the Night King turning Viscerion.

6. Benjen saving Jon was... interesting. I would prefer if it was Rhaegal saving him, though. Where did Rhaegal disappear to? Also, why did Drogon go back North?

7. Jon and Dany are definitely in love now. Just don't think about how closely they're related, and it's touching.

1. I think the teleporting complaint is still valid given the 2000 mile distance that is traversed, first by raven and then by dragon, without any indication of how long it took. It seemed pretty quick on screen. Maybe I missed the dialogue that said "Hey, we've been waiting for Dany for a week already, where is she?" or maybe they just didnt bother writing it.

2. I'm loving creepy Arya. What I don't understand is why she gave Sansa the dagger.

3. The only thing I could think of was maybe Cersei is trying to cut a deal with Sansa against Jon\Dany and Sansa is intrigued. That would have made more sense if Sansa had given Brienne a sealed scroll with her response to take with her. Even less likely is that Sansa is planning to have Arya killed by one of her northmen and was concerned that Brienne would interfere because of her vow to protect both daughters. Littlefinger's chat with her seemed to get into that territory.

4. Dany's treatment of Tyrion is becoming routinely Jekyll and Hyde-like. This is not the first time she has rounded on him angrily and accused him of supporting his family. She pulled the same routine when she got news of the capture of Highgarden and Olenna's death. She was also glaring daggers at him when he was trying to counsel her not to fry the Tarly boys. Very concerning.

5. Loved it even though I was spoiled weeks ago by some moron on this site.

6. Loved it precisely because I wasn't spoiled weeks ago by some moron on this site. Hated that he didn't go back with Jon and is apparently a goner.

7. Targs marry brother and sister all time. This is a random match.com pairing by comparison.

1. Okay, the Gendry part strained credulity. But at least they did show some hiking through the tundra.

2. I don't like it, because it seems out of character. But I think she left the knife as a warning.

3. Neither of those seem likely, but I guess they're possible.

4. Agreed.

6. Yeah, Benjen should have returned with Jon. I do like his flame on a chain thing, that's pretty cool.

7. Good point.

1. I agree the teleportation was a little extreme. Think I got whiplash.

2. Not sure where this is heading. Arya is in Jon protection mode. The wordplay though had me confused. Not sure what Arya was trying to do. Before the rift between them becomes permanent hope Arya finds out that Littlefinger is behind the whole thing and kills him.

3. I took it to mean Sansa will not give Cersei the chance to kill her. She doesn't know that Olenna confessed to Jamie she killed Joffrey.

4. The rift between Tyrion and Dany is getting interesting. She's a Queen and takes advice but still makes her own decisions.

5. Loved the battle scene. Thought it was a little dumb when the Hound threw the rock and it didn't sink. Up until then they were safe. He really can be dense at times. Was sad when Viscerion was killed and was turned by the NK. When the battle between the dragons happen it's going to be another epic scene.

6. Benjen saving Jon was great but got a little confused. When he saved Bran he said the wall had magically properties and because of that he couldn't go back. Or something like that. Also wasn't sure how he knew that Jon was fighting the undead.

7. Loved the Jon and Dany scenes. I'm on the fence about them getting romantically involved. Am thinking (hoping) that Jon will settle on being King of the North and Warden of the North.

2. Really hope she kills Littlefinger before it's too late.

3. Maybe. But why Brienne? Especially since Littlefinger just said that Brienne could stop the sisters from killing each other...

4. Interesting isn't the word I would use, lol.

5. I thought it was pretty in character for the Hound to throw rocks when he got bored. Not a good idea, no, but somewhat amusing.

6. Yeah, the Wall is supposed to keep out magic/wights/White-Walkers, but it could possibly fall.

reply

3. That's exactly why she sent Brienne away. Littlefinger thinks she is listening to his suggestion because she wants to kill Arya. Pretty sure Sansa has other plans though.

1. TRAVEL TIME.
Yeah it took days to get whee they were going, but then it only took 12 hours for Gendry to run back to eastwatch, plus flying time for the raven to fly from eastwatch to dragonstone, plus time for Dany to fly up past the wall and rescue them.
so the teleporter was just busted for half an episode just to let the group have a bunch of recap conversations talking about shit we already know, and then it started working again.

2. Arya isn't Arya anymore. All this time to get back to her family and now she just wants to kill them and steal their faces.

3. Brienne was pledged to protetc both sisters, so Sansa sent her away on that fake letetr form cersei (that I think Sansa and Littlefinger wrote together), so thta Sansa could try to have Arya killed and she won't have Brienne to protect her.

6. The Benjen deus ex machina was too stupid, he just seems to miraculously appear whenever someone is in danger. Why did he have to stay behind and die? why couldn't both of them ride the horse to safety?

reply

1. *sigh* Fine. The travel times are still messed up.

2. As much as I don't want to believe that, you do have a point. I think it's just the lazy writing.

3. Again, I hope that's not true. The letter might be real, though.

6. I think his plan was to hold off the wights. It seems to have worked. Still don't know what happened to him, though. As in, how he's kinda undead but still not under control of the White Walkers.

6. Benjen was stuck with dragon glass before he was able to fully turn.

reply

Huh. That's an interesting theory.

reply

It's what he told Bran and Meera when he found them.

reply

Wait, what? How'd I miss that? 🙄
