why didnt the Night King threw it at Drogon?
much easier target to hit and is a bigger threat due to its size, and also ruin their rescue attempt as well, seems like a no brainer to me.

shareI think he was just trying to show Dany that even Dragons are no match for him. he seems to be taking his time and even enjoying his march south.
shareOnly thing I can think of is that viserion was more of a direct threat to him at that moment as drogon was stuck on the ground dealing with the survivors.
sharewell the writers should have come up with a better scene to justify his decision.
something like - he was going to throw it at Drogon but at the last moment he sense Viserion coming close to his left or right flank so he swifty turn to that direction and threw the spear at it before it can come close enough to burn him.
I'm assuming he didn't know what their strategy was in detail, but certainly by attacking one or another dragon he reduced the potency or strength of their attack. Plus, he now has a new weapon of sizeable destructive power and with which he can attack the Wall.
shareBecause the two Dragons flying around will be on his ass so fast.
shareHe couldn't get a clear shot on Drogon because of his wing.
shareHmmm... Drogon may have been ready to wack that ice spear with his wings the moment it got closer, so Night King opted for the much more difficult throw.
Still not really sure how an arm-thrown ice spear was able to penetrate Viserion's armored layer so easily....

Oh well, _that’s_ easy.
Of course, there was magic involved. Even IF a »normal« spear had penetrated Viserion's shells, there’s no way it had killed him instantly. Remember that Drogon took that arrow from Qyburn’s weapon and obviously, that wasn’t very much more than a scratch to him.
Ever heard of subject/object agreement?
Obviously not.
You waste our intellectual time.
