Why is Cersei

so nonchalant about what happened to the Lannister army? I know she has the gold and thinks she can buy just about any army out there, but wouldn't the news of the dragons just burning right through the Lannister army scare away any other armies from wanting to join the fight regardless of the money?

reply

Because she's out of touch with reality. She thinks that gold can buy anything, and doesn't get that there's not enough gold in the world to get anyone to sign up to fight a dragon. Bronn won't do it, neither will any other sellsword, and her vassals won't be showing up when called. Or maybe she's overconfident because she still has Euron, but Euron's ships are all made of nice flammable wood (that should be Dany's next move, finding his fleet and burning it to the waterline).

And she does seem to be one of those people that just won't give up even when they're beaten because they can't wrap their heads around the idea of defeat, and she certainly won't give up to spare the lives of her supporters because she doesn't value the lives of her supporters. There's a good chance she'll try to pull an Aerys and blow up King's Landing rather than surrender it.

Otter is right. I also think that Dany inexplicably asking for a truce is probably also making Cersei more confident than she should be.

I'm pretty sure that she is clinically depressed. She shows most of the symptoms of Anger Depression; plus, she is an asshole.

That bitch is a straight up sociopath!

Some people need to see what the dragons can do because warning them just isn't enough to fully comprehend the threat. Same with the White Walkers.
