As a Baratheon 'bastard' might HE have some potential to sit the Iron Throne?
Considering how many awful lords and ladies are literally slaughtering each other for supremacy it would be sweet justice if a humble Gin Alley decent sort winfs up the ruler of all...AND Hot Pie for royal baker?!?
If Gendry distinguishes himself enough, it could happen in the same way that Jon was proclaimed King in the North despite his background.

Another gray area, being that Baratheon conquered the throne and took it as his own, and Danyres thinks she is rightful heir so is conquering/taking it back........is it blood or conquer that deserves the throne?
shareI don't think any of that matters because Gendry could give two shits about being king. I think once Cersei is deposed, all of who rules what will be settled pretty reasonably.

I think the twist will be in his underestimating Arya and Sansa while he's trying to con them and that will be his downfall.

Yeah, I think the only way it happens is if Dany dies and maybe Jon too (if he is really Rhaegar's son) or if Jon decided he would just remain King in the North and doesn't care about the Iron Throne.
