a few random thoughts after 7x05

After seeing the Tarly men die, hopefully they'll keep deaths on screen. Having Ellaria, Tyene, and Olenna all bite it off-screen irked me a bit, though it worked for the story.

Wonder if we'll see Daario or anyone from Essos again before the series wraps.

I kind of thought Jaime would be off-screen for 7x05 and 7x06, presumed dead, then BAM, surprise, back in 7x07, reveals himself, and kills Cersei in one go.

Cersei needs to fire her seamstress. When she was seated, her dress was riding up on top of her bubs in an awkward way.

UNacceptable!

reply

Cersei needs to fire her plastic surgeon because that constipated bitch can only make 2 expressions and even those 2 are just different variations of smug.

Cersei also needs the blonde locks of 100 virgins sacrificed to her, because I am not liking her bob.

PS: does Danni wear a wig? I saw her on an old talk show and she had shoulder length brown hair. That is a LOT of wig to drag around in the Mediteranian heat!!!!!

reply

Yes it's a wig. It takes them some hours to put it on her. Also Sansa's hair is a wig this season.

reply

Ugggh.....I hope she gets paid extra! Many have no idea how hot + cumbersome that would be!

reply

I'm sure she's taken care of in outdoor scenes where there's no A/C. They shoot the show in multiple locations like Spain, Croatia, Northern Ireland, plus a lot of interior or green screen stuff is indoors. So the real temps aren't always what they look like on the show. I know the actors who wear the real or semi-real armor shooting in hot locations are fitted with a cooling system underneath, basically some tubes wrapped around them with coolant running through.

Some actresses have also mentioned how distracting it is wearing a wig. Faye Dunaway said in an interview that when you're wearing a wig, even the move to brush back a lock of hair becomes artificial and calculated...it is on your mind how you can and cannot handle it. Whereas if it's your real hair, the movement is natural.

It's also harder to hear wearing a wig. Even if it's made from human hair, there's invariably more of it.

The whole thing is just a pain, all the way around.

Apparently Jaime can swim a mile underwater while wearing heavy armor.
Their miraculous escape was a little too incredible. We saw Jaime SINKING in deep water and the battle and the dragon was right above the water. The only way he could have escaped drowning would be to very quickly take off the armor weighing him down (like maybe it's hinged or something and has a quick escape? Although in real history, you needed help from your squire to get in and out of armor. That was their main job- taking care of the armor and dressing the knight.)
And even then, he'd need to come up to the surface to breathe immediately but the dragon would have just gobbled him up.
Instead, we see them coming up out of the water a mile downstream from the battle and Jaime is still in his armor!

Dragons are sweet.

Treat Drogon right, and he'll treat you right.

Thinking...thinking...Sondheim! INTO THE WOODS! Took me a minute.

If Sam finds valuable information in the random books and scrolls he pulled from the library, it will be lame.

I hope this doesn't happen...

EDIT: if all else fails, though, he does have a potential future establishing a Greyscale Removal and Rehabilitation clinic.

When Sam went in the library to steal the books, I thought he was going to find maesters secretly searching about the long night. It would have been cool for the Grand Maester to have actually listened to him even if he pretended not to in front of the others.

reply

We don't know Ellaria is dead yet but her daughter probably is for sure

reply

The actress and showrunners said in an interview that we won't see Ellaria again, so I think that's a safe assumption.

reply

Oh I hadn't heard that. It sucks that Cersei got the best of all of the Tyrells and the Martells.
