I used to watch those, and I got to really like them. They had people who read the books and told me all the stuff I was too dense to notice, or was out of the room for ... and explained it well. It doesn't seem to be renewed this season ... that sucks!
shareAbsolutely. I loved it. I haven't read the books, and there are sooooo many characters and story lines to keep up with so they were excellent at filling in any gaps I may have missed.

shareIf it was aimed to fill in blanks explained by the books and this season is freestyling on its own ideas than there is probably no inclination to provide a similar show. What could be said that is comparable to Martin's scope of thinking - D & D are interpreters of the story he has developed and it seems deference is paid to Martin most of the time. Still, maybe they could come up with something of a background resource.
