Final villain twist?

Is there any possibility the WW are not the final villains?

I hope for Cersei or Dany as final villains, but I'll take everyone, literally EVERYONE over a generic zombie apocalypse solved with sone generic heroic sacrifice and generic undefined savior magic.

I'd be happier even if ser Pounce turns out to be the mastermind behind everything.

It's called a Song of Ice and Fire, so it's either about dumb flaming lizards melting hive-minded ice monsters or it's all about Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.

My guess is that it will climax in a big lukewarm puddle, then Cersei and Sansa will be left to clean up the mess.

I'd love it. But how can Cersei survive? We know she dies in the books.

reply

No you don't.

Possible but unlikely. We know from GRRM's original synopsis that WhiteWalkers or Others as they are called in the books have always been intended as the final big-bad. It's possible he had a re-think but thus far It's hard to see anyone else posing a greater threat, the worst Cersei or Dany might do is execute a few rebels who oppose them which is not really a threat on the same level as a force that wants to wipe out all of humanity.

Cersei possibly has tons of wildfire, Dany has dragons and could go mad queen.

The most Cersei can do with her wildfire is probably napalm Kings Landing, it's unlikely she can blow up the whole kingdom. The amount you'd need to make an explosion that big would just be impossible to keep hidden so I would doubt she has that much even if they had enough ingredients to create it in the first place.

Dany could go mad I suppose but I'd still bet on the final bad being WW.

I meant if there's a battle against the WW in King's landing
