Unless the hit too the head put the President in a 30 year coma? Can anyone tell me why she was taken by helipcopter and set free. Good or bad? I think they would at least wait till they got an account of what happenend from the ONLY other person left alive. I guess also, no camera`s in that room, ya ok?? I never seen a more laughable ending in my life! (3 stars by Comacast? This movie is a joke) The movie would have made more sense if the President was killed. But he wasnt and they take her away and she even says "im the only one left alive, have to take MY word" huh? No the President word would have been heard. I cant belive a movie could even get released with such a huge hole.

The reason no one asks the President is because in the original version of the movie the President is dead. It's only because of ridiculous changes, presumably due to test audiences who couldn't handle the President being shot or Evelyn Salt's husband being slowly drowned, that the President is only knocked out in the stupid theatrical cut.

Check out the director's cut. It's really good.

It's top secret. Records of everything said and done in the war room would be a national security risk. The cameras are filming what happens OUTSIDE the room. Terrorists are not supposed to get even THAT close.

So if there is a sequal the President is dead?? And replaced by a Russian spy, is that why I keep reading that?

In the version of the original I watched, the President is dead. It was changed for the theatrical cut, but in the director's cut the President is shot dead pretty unceremoniously.
