'I'm Theodore Winter, CIA. Help the President.'

Problem is, he made himself in front of the President, and so when the President wakes up -- let's pretend that Salt doesn't strangle him -- he's going to tell everyone that Ted is the real bad guy.

It's called, keeping cover. What was he supposed to say? I'm a russian spy and I just tried to kill the president? No, he stays in cover and will obviously try to kill the president before he awakens. That's why Salt kills him. She knows the President is still in danger. Watch again and see how closely Ted is following the President out of the room. Oh, he was going to try and kill the president again.

Good call cooper!! Makes sense.

Not quite sure what you are saying here, but I think that's because I've only seen the director's cut.

It's a pity that test audiences presumably couldn't handle the idea of the President being killed. I mean, what happened in the theatrical cut? He shoots all the people in the room EXCEPT the President? Why?

reply

He needed the President to input the security code.

When the president wakes up? He was shot, in the head.

The President is killed in the director's cut, which is the only cut I saw. I'm assuming in the theatrical cut he is knocked unconscious or something.
