Yeah, that's what I've been saying! No one seems to agree with me that the director's cut had the awesomest ending.

I've only seen the director's cut and absolutely LOVED it. When I heard about the changes they made for the theatrical cut I was just confused. Not just the ending (which was BRILLIANT), but also what happens to the husband. The change just seemed bizarre when the original scene was so moving. *scratches head*
And OF COURSE they couldn't let the President die in the movie. *facepalm*
