Amanda

Anyone think she intentionally got Kim caught by sex slavers but was double-crossed herself?

reply

Interesting thought!!

Didn't consider this! What an interesting twist/possibility.

I mean, was she killed intentionally in the bed? It seemed so(I don't do drugs, or have knowledge so I don't fully get that scene).

Not only that, but she seemed to be trying her gosh darned-est to get the two of them into trouble. It was like she was basically advertising for them to get kidnapped!

I think that's a little unfair. She was a young sex mad girl away from home in Paris. Hell I moved to the South of France when I was 19 and the first thing I went looking for off the plane was some lovin'.

I've never done illegal drugs either but I've come across many in my work. You have to consider two things. The first is constitution. Narcotics are like alcohol, everyone is has a different tolerance. Some manage hard drugs for life others can overdose at the first try. Second is the 'quality' of the drug. A 'bad fix', heroine is often mixed with toxic chemicals to turn 2 grams into 3. Either one or a combination of both could easily cause death and the Albanians didn't seem to be very discerning guardians.

In short there's no evidence Amanda was in on the caper.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!

No.

She wanted Kim to loosen up and lose her virginity, not to be kidnapped, drugged and raped. They were classmates and friends. Why on earth would she want that to happen to Kim, not to mention herself?

reply

She didn't want it to happen to herself.

She just wanted to sell her best mate into sexual slavery.

She helped the kidnappers take Kim but they double-crossed her and took her too.

Well, I watched the movie again last night, if that were the case there would be some hinting at it in the dialogue between the girls and Peter; a knowing look or two from Amanda or something to that effect, I didn't see any, and furthermore, right after leaving the girls at the apartment, Peter calls the Albanians and tells them " two American girls around eighteen ", he doesn't say anything that even remotely points to Amanda's involvement in the scheme.
And why would she want to sell out her best friend to Albanian human traffickers ? She'd have to be a real psycho to do something like that.
There is absolutely no indication in the movie to support your claim.

reply

I think the op was making a sarcastic comment

Amanda was just dumb and didnt know any better. Kim actually had more common sense. She knew it was a bad idea but Amanda wanted to share a cab with a stranger and even tell him where they were staying and will be alone.

But who cares he was hot right? So he must be friendly

For money, presumably.

reply

It's funny but you don't explain where you got this idea.

reply

Why do you think she told some guy where they were staying? She wanted to sell Kim into sexual slavery.

reply

I understand what you're suggesting what I mean is there's no apparent evidence to support it. What I'm asking is what line or scene promoted you to think Amanda was bent? It's just supposition.

reply

1. She invites Kim on a trip where she gets taken.

2. She tells some "stranger" where Kim is staying.

I also think Lenore was involved too.

reply

You're an idiot!

reply

Why do you think Lenore wanted her to go? She was setting her daughter up be a sex slave.

reply

honestly that makes more sense than her being embarrassingly retarded.

Well Tony, nobody wants a war. If we can't do business why we'll just shake hands and that'll be it!
