Brutal moment, or just me...S3E1

While I've seen quite a few bad guys get picked off in this series, it seemed a bit out of place that "Javier" just turns around and puts one right into Emmett's head, then a shot of his glasses indicating he took it in the eye. It was quite sudden and just brutal.

That was very brutal. I think they just did it for shock value. And budget cuts, since Tony Hale couldn't have been that cheap to get for the show.

Yes, it was sudden and brutal.

But as the next guy said:

I think they just did it for shock value.

Saying this, at least in this case, is akin to saying that they wrote in a joke "just for the humor". It had a place, and belonged there, and let us know exactly what the writers thought of this particular villain, and what they wanted us to think of him.

Always feel free to attack someone as a substitute for thinking.

plus as has been said they wanted to emphasize the action more in season 3 and show that no characters were safe. Which sadly was true as we lost quite a few likable characters after...
