So I'm on season 3 now and have loved it up until this point.
so Sarah wanted to run away with chuck and she knew how he felt about her and she's goes on and on and on about how they shouldn't be together because *SPIES*
but then she meets shaw for like a month and tells him her "real" name and suddenly it's okay to be with someone.
that is my only complaint about this show so far.

They use this time to present both Chuck and Sarah with their "ideal" counterpart from the life they have been leading. Hannah the nerdy, sweet, innocent girl for Chuck. And Shaw, the capable spy with emotional depth that you may or may not have seen yet. How the 2 story lines play out however....

As far as Sarah, I think she's mostly just hurt and sees Shaw as someone she can connect with - even if it's only in one aspect of her life.

Also, though they never bring it up in the show again, it was heavily implied if not outright stated by one of the creators that Sam is NOT her real name. However you decide canon should be assigned, I see that as evidence enough. That bit bothered me as well...

yeah it just seems like they pushed this "relationship"
we meet shaw
then he brings her coffee
suddenly they're together and she's 1000 times nicer to him than she ever was to chuck even though she supposedly loved him or had feelings or whatever.
then she's a complete bitch to chuck because she thought he killed the mole, and said he was changed (which I understand what she meant) but she didn't even talk to him afterwards.
I just find it annoying that suddenly she's soOoOo in love with shaw

She's not in love with Shaw. She knows Chuck's big weakness is his insecurity about guys like Bryce and Shaw. Like a lot of athletes I've known, she enjoys sex and doesn't have to be in love to have a sexual relationship with Shaw. He's handsome, a great agent and as she tells Chuck she has a type, though as Casey tells her what she really has is a pattern, she always hooks up with her partner. She offered to give up everything she valued, her life as an agent for Chuck and he hurt her deeply by refusing. In fact, I believe she avoids sex with Chuck because she senses it will be different with someone she really loves.

Why would she lie to him about her name and then tell him about something much more important, Molly?

reply

She didnt tell him about Molly, he flashed it

reply

Thanks, I never considered that. I was irritated that she would tell Shaw and not Chuck and Casey.

reply

Okay, time to be honest here, rather than just avoiding this so it doesn't get out of hand. How did it get into the intersect? Graham couldn't guarantee anonymity so Sarah lied to him.

reply

Don't I remember someone unknown sending it to him on a thumbdrive?

I agree with you in principle. It was annoying that they didn't have a better reason than just the negative of the previous reason.

But I didn't let that spoil the show for me. It's an inconsistency at worst, not a gigantic horrible thing that ruined everything it touched.

Not for me, anyway, but maybe I'm different.
