Chuck throwing the letter opener at Shaw

Rewatching the ep (for about the 10th time) of Chuck on "trial" with the Cia by Shaw, I thought of something. His idea of throwing the letter opener at Shaw to prove he was the intersect wasn't that smart. Shaw was known as a highly trained agent. Catching the letter opener wouldn't have proven he had the intersect. He could just say and the witnesses could just as well conclude that he did so because he was so highly trained/so great. I mean Sarah knocked out thrown knife out of mid air with a hatchet, which made Orion think she might have the intersect, but she was just really good. While sensational, good agents (Sarah, Casey, Shaw, Bryce) were often shown doing things like that. It only proved to Orion that Chuck had the Intersect because Chuck was not a highly trained agent without the intersect.
