Movie
Maaaaaaan I want a movie for this show so bad.
shareUnfortunately it's never going to happen. It's already been three years without a whisper of a movie and the interest doesn't seem to be there. We all just have our imagination to correct the monumental FU that Fedak gave us with the end. It will have to be enough.
shareThere has been alot of chatter but nothing concrete. I think the best that can be hoped for is a small mini-series on netflix or something. They are going insane with making new tv shows there right now.
shareThere's quite a movement for a movie on twitter doesn't mean anything will come of it but nice to see some support for a movie...
Just to clarify this thread, Zachary Levi confirmed that a movie will most certainly happen, but just not very soon. Be patient guys, a movie is not cheap!
shareActually he has not said a movie will happen, just that he's committed to revisiting the idea and seeing if it can be done and if there is enough interest from WB and Schwartz and Fedak to make it happen.

That article, unfortunately, is 18 months old. The longer it takes to get the money together, the tougher it is to bring everyone back. Adam Baldwin has a TV series on TNT now, and Yvonne Strahovski has a new series on ABC coming up and is on the short list to play Captain Marvel.

Pfft, we got a Deadpool movie after eleven years of promises. Keep making noise and complaining, hopefully the right people will hear and realise they're losing profits. Or something.
Who are the right people, anyway? I see mentioned: Zachary Levi, and WB and Schwartz and Fedak. Any other suggestions? and what's the best way to get heard?
Always feel free to attack someone as a substitute for thinking.

In March of 2014, he indicated that if he couldn't get people to donate $1 Million to his NerdHQ crowdfund, he wasn't interested in working on funding a movie.
From his Facebook:
"Please hear what I'm about to say very clearly. No one has promised to give me the rights if I can crowd fund NerdHQ, and they haven't said that they won't give me the rights if I can't crowd fund NerdHQ. But I believe with all my heart that if I can't get you to support this vision of NerdHQ, I won't be making a "Chuck" movie."
Right now I'm asking for $5 from each of you to raise a total of $1M. A "Chuck" movie would cost at least $5M to make, minimum, and therefor a lot more than $5 from each of you. If I can't rally you all to help me now, I don't think I have what it takes to rally you later for far more money. That's the truth."

He didn't get a million for NerdHQ. He got about a third of that. The event did go on, however.
As far as I know, he has made no statements about a Chuck movie since then.
Interestingly, everyone brings up quotes he said far longer ago, but have conveniently forgotten what he said last March.
I bet you could get a good budget going from Kickstart. I can't tell you how BADLY we need more Chuck!!!!!
shareArrested development got a new season pretty much a decade after being canceled. Also Veronica Mars got a movie about 6 or 7 years after its cancelation and blue mountain states movie will be out soon and it was canceled by spike tv 4 years ago. So never is a giant assumption especially if it's based on it being gone for 3 years. Fans will get what they want if they want it bad enough and keep talking about it. I mean look at community it's pretty much been canceled or on the chopping block after every season and its rabid fans keep recessitating. So pretty much what I'm saying is never say never.

If it ever does get sold into syndication, I wouldn't be surprised if CW gets the reruns. It seems like the right network for re-runs.
shareI need more chuck. It was the best series in the world. Ok, maybe not. Josh Schwartz was talking about maybe having a mini-series on Netflix in an interview or making a movie. This was in January though.
shareI want this so bad but I don't think it'll ever happen. It's been too long.
shareI think they need to use the current revival/reboot trend to their advantage if they ever want to accomplish this. A 6 ep mini series or something like that would be sufficient. Anything that would round out the series and give us some better closure on Chuck and Sarah.
shareMaking a movie is likely never going to happen. A mini-series is more likely.
shareI'd prefer a mini-series at this point. Even 6 ep's would be more content than a movie, and it would feel like a familiar format. They could focus on a few good stories and an overall arc (Sarah...)
shareYou know what, we should start a petition that all the fans can sign. Either for a movie or mini-series. Yep, I think I'm gonna set one up.
shareMade a petition. PLEASE SIGN IF YOU WANT A CHUCK MOVIE OR MINI-SERIES!

A short series to clean everything up makes much more sense than a movie but alas - neither is ever going to happen. It's been three years since the show left the air and there hasn't been a murmur of ACTUAL interest so I don't see it happening. I know I know - Full House right? COMPLETELY different situations.
shareIn a world full of naysayers, I appreciate your CAN DO attitude. Signed. The buzz will never start if everyone thinks it's hopeless, so spread the word. It's not too late, people like me are still learning about the show. I just discovered it this month.
shareAs did I. Started watching pilot last Thursday, now I'm in middle of season 4. Angry at myself for not watching sooner. Absolutely love it.
As for a reboot, it would be awesome,,, but unfortunately in most cases fans care way more then the actors themselves. Series ends, they get bummed for a week, then get another gig. We get stuck with the,,,
WTF just happened? Why did they cancel my show?
Frankly autocorrect, I'm getting a little tired of your shirt
What would that TV-movie or mini-series even be about?
They had already decided before Sarah lost her memory, that Carmichael Industries would not do that kind gun blazing and ass kicking spying any longer.
Instead the company would battle internet espionage, mainly because of Chuck's hacking skills.

TL;DR The complete series stands on its own and doesn't need a movie to wrap anything up.
As always, I'm way late to the discussion, so I realize that probably no one will read this. Oh well. I just finished binge-watching the entire series the other night. Because I was traveling for work at the time, I missed much of the last two seasons and didn't feel I could weigh in until I saw the whole thing.
I'm probably in the minority of folks here who think there probably won't be a Chuck movie and I don't think one is needed for the following reasons:
1. Ultimately, the series isn't about Chuck and Sarah or any of the other characters. It's about the Intersect. At the end of the series, all of the known Intersect computers and glasses are destroyed, Stephen Bartowski is dead, and any Intersect clone that the CIA or anyone else could create would probably be so faulty it wouldn't be worth the effort. I think Casey realized this when he told Sarah not to put the glasses on during the firefight with Quinn's people. At that point, getting captured would've been better than dealing with any headaches caused by the Intersect, especially given the problems Morgan had with it. About the only way the Intersect could spin back into existence would be if Ellie decided to go back to college to get a Ph.D in Bioengineering so that she could keep her father's work going. But I think near the end of the series, she and Devon had had enough of the spy life and would've preferred to focus on raising Clara.
In a lot of ways, this series reminds me a lot of the Greatest American Hero. Actually, it's better in some ways. Early on, the series thrived on the sexual tension between Chuck and Sarah, whereas Ralph and Pam were already a couple at the beginning of TGAH. Plus, Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahowski had lots of natural chemistry, while William Katt and Connie Sellecca had none. And while the red suit was clearly of alien origin and unlikely to be ever understood by anyone on earth, the writers of Chuck pseudo-scienced the Intersect enough to make it seem at least somewhat plausible. But just like TGAH was all about the red suit, Chuck is clearly about the Intersect.
2. Outside of the leads, none of the cast really got much of a boost from this series. After Chuck was over, Vik Sahay went back to Canada, Scott Krinsky went back to art house movies and Internet shorts, Ryan McPartlin went back to Lifetime movies of the week, Joshua Gomez went back to video game voice-overs and bit parts, and Mark Christopher Lawrence's career kind of tailed off after having been in some movie blockbusters before Chuck. Adam Baldwin was already a long established actor and his career has continued along the same trajectory. But it seems the only ones who really benefited from their time on Chuck were Levi and Strahovski. I would guess at this point, most of the actors have moved on. I remember reading an interview with Matt LeBlanc right before his Friends spin-off series Joey began airing, and it didn't sound like he was too thrilled at the prospect of being Joey Tribbiani for the rest of his life. I've noticed that just about all of the actors on Chuck followed up with very different roles from their Chuck characters, especially Sarah Lawrence's turn in a horror movie. I would guess that the actors would want to avoid being typecast.
3. Except for rare cases like Entourage, no one does reunion movies anymore. They're a relic of the 70s and 80s, and the Brady Bunch probably ruined that genre forever with their variety specials and that ill-fated morphing into 30-something. It made sense to do a movie for Firefly, because it only ran one season, the producers were caught off guard by the cancellation, and needed to wrap up a bunch of hanging plot lines, which I thought Serenity did a great job of. At the end of Chuck's run, it seemed the show runners were running out of ideas, and I'm not sure there's anywhere else to go with these characters, especially with the Intersect gone. As great of a series as Chuck was, I'm not sure it's more worthy of a movie reunion than the OC, Friends, or Seinfeld.
A lot of what you have written is pertinent, but you have left out a few crucial points.
First, the Intersect still exists, Chuck uploaded the last version into himself in order to defuse the bomb at the Opera House. He had wanted to use a modified version of it to restore Sarah's memory that he and Ellie had been working on. Which is why we see the ending where he is trying to restore her memory. As endings go, this isn't the worst I've seen (Dexter is probably the worst so far), but there is scope for further plot-lines in the future if a revival comes about.
Some ideas could be of chuck and Ellie teaming up to work together to create a new Intersect (Ellie with her understanding of human brains, Chuck with his understanding of computers) with limited capabilities to help Sarah get her memories back. Chuck could have a computer Tech company working on Computer espionage, but I think Sarah would be back with the CIA doing what she originally was trained for - being a full blown spy - but Chuck, being Chuck would always try and back her up, probably covertly, and causing the usual mayhem in the process. As the Movie or TV progresses, the situations Sarah gets into begins to unlock snippets of her memory. The rest of the crew, Morgan, Casey, Devon, Ellie, Alex, Jeff & Lester, even Big Mike too, could all have sub-plots that require Chuck and/or Sarah to be involved in saving their necks one way or another. How it would all end, would be up to the script writers and actors, but one more series could still be interesting.
One thing that Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski have been doing every year since the demise of the TV series "Chuck" is visit the San Diego Comic-Con event, specifically the Nerd-Herd fans, where they raise money for a charity they are passionate about, but also as a thank you to all the fans who kept "Chuck" going for an extra 3 seasons. At these conventions, Zach & Yvonne are constantly asked if a revival of "Chuck" will ever happen. Their answer is that it is down to Warner Brothers who own the rights, and enough pressure from fans around the world wanting more of "Chuck" and proving they are willing to pay for the privilege. All the actors have all said if "Chuck" was to go ahead, then they would all want to be on board. Then it will only be down to finding a time when all the actors are available at the same time, although if different episodes focus on different main characters, then shooting schedules could be worked around the actors other commitments. Zach & Yvonne would be the only two who would need to be available for the entire time, as their story-line would be the link throughout the movie or TV season that has to stay constant.
I still think the blend of action, romance and comedy in this series made it one of the best TV series I have ever seen, and I have as yet to find anything that covers all three genres to such good effect.

The intersect was never anything more than a plot device to push the story forward. Chuck was a show about a normal guy thrust into a world totally outside of his wildest dreams, and the girl he loved from the moment he met her.
Chuck is about Chuck and Sarah. It was from the first episode, right to the end. I am not going to talk about the ending, but the show is a romantic dramady at it's core. The intersect is just a means to an end. That's why is became less and less important as the series went on.
In season one and two Fulcrum and the Ring spent ever minute they had trying to find and capture the Intersect. By season 4, the Intersect was just something that Chuck had, no one was really actively looking for it anymore, and really only the Belgian thought it had any value to anyone that season. And he just wanted the info it contained, not the tech itself.

WE NEED MORE CHUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
shareI would like to see a follow up, whether it be a Movie or mini-series just to let us know what happened.
I would love to see a series of movies (like Zac proposed) with more adventures and to help bring some further closure to the finale, or else more seasons of the show return (whether on streaming services like Netflix or on Broadcast TV, either works for me). I really hope it can happen!
shareIf they made continued stories about Chuck, then they better have the CIA give Chuck the worlds largest apology for all those problems he had with Decker, by also returning the at least 500 million dollars that Decker stole from Chuck.
Fair is fair because it turned out, that Decker was being manipulated by Shaw.
