Why did Ellie say....
"And your girlfriend has been just nothing but mean to me" in episode 2 of season 1? If she was joking, she sure didn't have the facial expression of someone joking. Then she says Sarah is great like 2 minutes later....

shareShe was joking. It was, well not exactly sarcasm but kind of saying the opposite of the truth for humor. It was her way of saying how sweet Sarah is, because saying she's mean is so obviously ludicrous. It's like if you teased one of the best workers by saying that they need to shape up or they might get fired, because everyone knows they are the best worker and the idea is ludicrous. Or imagine complaining that it was rough hanging out with Casey because he's just so touchy feely and won't stop talking about his feelings.

It was pretty clear it was a joke. Everyone was laughing about it. Do you always have a hard time understanding these kind of things? I mean, it was so obvious that a 10-year old would pick up on it.
Made you look!
