I think people are too harsh on the ending.
Let's not forget that the writers were scrambling almost every season because they didn't know when it was going to end. NBC never gave them any warning until the last minute.

shareThe problem with the ending was they only had to have it go for another 2 minutes and have Sarah get her memory back when Chuck and her kissed and everybody would have been a lot happier with it but the way they left it was awful and they should bring it back for a movie or a reboot to fix it up.

Yeah, but I thought it was clear she was remembering those feelings for Chuck; otherwise she doesn't ask him to tell her their story or kiss her.
It's funny. They just had Bernadette have a baby on The Big Bang Theory, and the episode tried to avoid the standard sitcom clichés you see whenever a baby is born on a show, but people still complained anyway.
I think the end is only bad if you think Sarah never got her memories back. But the empirical evidence said she was.

The DVD extras make it clear the script called for her to recover her memories. However, the way Zach overruled the director in that last scene led to an ambiguous and confusing ending. Especially when one considers that 4th season episode where Mary Bartowski reads Sleeping Beauty to Clara.
shareSarah asks Chuck for a kiss. How in Gods name can people not see this as a Great ending?
Geez, everything needs to be 100% spelled out for ya?
Frankly autocorrect, I'm getting a little tired of your shirt
Chuck is my favorite TV show of all time, but I was also a bit bitter with the finale. After a year or so it came on NETFLIX and watched it again and came to terms with the finale and all the great times from the show's 5 seasons.
I chose to believe Sarah's memories returned or she fell in love with Chuck all over again. There is proof to back up those theories. Sarah was remembering things while with chuck in the finale, like how to run the Wiener place. And then she was very happy with the kiss in the end.
But what convinced me the most that she fell for chuck again is from an episode in season 3 "Chuck vs. the Other Guy" when she tells Chuck, "Yes, I fell for you sometime between you fixing my cell phone and defusing a bomb with a computer virus". Which means she fell for him in the Pilot and Chuck did those same things in the finale
The reaction to the kiss was the problem. If she had gotten her memories back then after the kiss the right response from her would have been for her to move her hand to his head for a more passionate kiss meaning she had her memories back... Instead that doesn't happen which could imply that the kiss did nothing.
