thought it was really disjointed
like lots of little sketches not really interlinking. Was quite disappointed

shareIt's more a mosaic than a straight linear story. I found it extraordinarily well done. And because the stories were allowed to unfold within each other they all had more impact in the end.
shareI didn't think I would make it thru the movie the 1st time I saw it. Then I watched it for a 2nd time (after coming here to get some questions answered) and I enjoyed it very much. A very unique movie IMO.
shareMosaic is the perfect word for it. Garrone is attempting to show how the Camorra pervade all levels of Neopolitan society.

Yep, that's it. The style is different, all right, but it isn't about character 'identification' or anything typical to Hollywood. This plays like a fragmented documentary. Notice, too, how the killings don't have the smallest ounce of glamour, or even a great deal of blood. It's just a tense, depressingly realistic drama to inform an audience, not necessarily to entertain.

if any of the different threads were at all interesting, it would have been good
