Not important I'm just curious really.

Why did Toto wear a cheap England shirt/vest with Beckham's number 7 on it? Seemed strange to me as I would have thought they would wear Argentinian (number 10) shirts or even Napoli shirts. Did SSC Napoli not want to be associated with this film and thus didn't give permission for any of the characters to wear their kit?

Noticed some Napoli shirts (inc. Cannavaro's) hung up in a drug gang's hideout though, which looked cool.

also, these kids are poor and would probably consider any football shirt 'cool'.

That amused me since I am from England. He wore it just to be different I'm guessing. Also, did you notice at the end of the movie one of the gangstas was wearing a Cincinati (should be Cincinnati) shirt?

It's because they made a lot of money from counterfeit goods. You'll notice in one scene a room full of dodgy goods, Im guessing that as they are going through it they obvioulsy keep the odd bit of clothing. Why Beckham? well because if you are dealing in counterfeit goods you're probably going to deal in popular brands ie Nike, Beckham etc

Interesting how a lot of slum kids the world over- South America, Africa, even on the poor estates in Europe- wear football shirts . . .

During a visit to the Kasbah in Tangiers a few years back most of the young kids were wearing old Man Utd shirts-no accounting for taste!

Maybe you didn't seen it, but there was a "Maradona 10" shirt in that scene too.

They call it a Royale with cheese...

Maybe because Beckham is a legend in the football world? Who wouldn't want to wear his shirt, even if it a cheap knock-off?

But yes, they were poor. Any football shirt would be cool for them, I guess!

He is wearing a Scotland one halfway through the film also
