the very last scene? -spoilers -

what were they trying to do with the two bodies of the young lads?

throw them in the sea or something?

the caterpillar was holding them up too high in the last seconds before the credits. is that a reference to anything? make them closer to god or sth before they get rid of the them?

seemed very interesting.

reply

I saw it as symbolism. The construction and waste management companies were making a living off of the dead.

Probably symbolic of Icarus. Their ambition to reach the top got them killed.

reply

It could be just that the driver wanted to see where he was going...?

reply

Since it's a shame for a clan being fooled by two kids, they're gonna bury them were nobody could find them

And no dream is ever... just a dream...

reply

Maybe they put them in one of those toxic waste vats

reply

Good call. I'd agree.

Decent film. Good atmosphere but depressing - but that's not the director's fault. These people.............sheesh.....

Beanpod, anyone?!

It may be a tribute to Luis Bunuel's "Los Olvidados", which covers a lot of similar ground. Watch the ending scene of that one (the original version, if you can get a hold of it).

reply

Maybe it was a sign of respect to the two rascals, lifting them so high yet in the end they were defeated anyway, by a stronger. bigger force.

reply

I would have thought it was for 2 reasons. So the driver could see where he was going and to hide the bodies from any possible witnesses whilst on th eway to dump them. No mysticism here.

reply

I don't see any symbolism there or anything other than that's how he was operating it.

reply

why did they emphasise it then? just a time filler?

reply

Not sure. I'll take another look at the scene though and reply.

reply

You don't want anybody to see what you are transporting, so you raise them up to hide them so nobody can see them.

reply

good point didnt think of that. i thought they were in a fairly deserted area tho
