last episode/finale---conf used about odd detail

i finally saw the finale tonight on the bravo marathon. i luv this show & was away when the finale ran originally. & believe it or not did not make the effort yet to watch thru cbs site...anyway janice goes to visit trina upset about cincinatti & brings her the baby advice book & in their convo says tom is like a big kid...later on trina is at the clambake & says to SUSAN, something about the other day u said tom is like big kid? but janet said it & susan does not correct her? did i miss something? hope u understand my question...

Susan also said it the day before, in Trina's kitchen when she was slicing lemons. She said "It's hard to imagine Tom as a little boy, he's really just a big kid anyway".
