What would they be doing now?

I think it would be interesting to think about where they would be/what they would be doing in 2009, 30+ years after the setting of the show. Main characters would be in their 60's or so children would be in their 40s. Since we didn't see if they split up and "changed partners" permanently, if the Deckers decided to be parents, if Sam ever did come back, and what about the teacher who raced off to South America before he was charged with child abuse. (I know this wasn't part of the storyline but all I could imagine when they were together was that she was underage and no matter what they felt for each other they risked all kinds of legal problems.)

I know this post is old but I happened to find it. Here's what I think would have happened.

The Deckers would have had the child, a boy. The next children would be two girls. They got out of swinging and later on embraced religion. The became members of the Republican Party, and devout religious. The kids much later in life found out their parents were once swingers and had problems with it. The son is gay (married the Thompson son), the oldest daughter became a political analyst and the youngest daughter is around 22 and still in college studying to be a teacher.

The Millers divorced, Tom Miller married his coworker and they had a daughter. Susan married Roger, no kids. Laurie went on the become a successful writer and never married. Her brother married someone he met in college and became a doctor.

The Thompsons. Roger married Susan and Janet became a successful career woman with a string of boy toys. She is now a cougar. Their son came out as gay and married his partner last year.

Various other people: the teacher did eventually come back but lost his job. He became homeless and pan handles. The one single woman with the daughter later married the lawyer who was friends with the Deckers. His wife the lawyer ran for US Senate and an ally to feminist causes. Her daughter became a rock star.
