More than I expected...here's why

When you watch a film like "Prom Night", you should NEVER (repeat...NEVER) look for anything other than a "B" grade slasher 'teen-type-scary, shallow, fun movie. If you look for depth, message, high quality thespian-ism, or anything other than 90mins of fun, distracting, conventionalism you deserve to be disappointed. That having been said, two things make this movie stand out: first, Brittany Snow...she is gorgeous in that 'girl-next-door, wholesome way that is missing from so many young actresses. I think her performance as a traumatized teen was 'spot-on'. The other is the performance of Jonathan Schaechthe as the psycho stalker. This guy even looked disturbing! The more ludicrous aspects of the story aside, it was fun just watching the two of them perform. "A cut above" the usual 'slasher-kills-teens' fare. (Oh yeah...pun brutally intended!!!)
