black couples

i saw the token black friend and i thought oh no, if she's got a black boyfriend who's the only other nonwhite person in school, if he says "blackisms" like describing his girlfriend as his "girl". i'm gonna hate this movie.
maybe its different in america, but i grew up in a multiracial school and never did i see people pairing off according to skin colour. in fact in my experience interacial couples were actually more common...
Can someone explain this to me? why does it always happen in american movies? is hollywood really that racist?
insidentally i'm a white guy if people are going to start pointing the oversensitive-angry-black-guy finger...
(credit where it's due, "i love you man" featured a interacial couple but its pretty rare in movies)

What is so damn racist about having a black couple in the movie? Absolutely nothing, I'm telling' ya.

Give 'em credit, one of them lived!

Why is everything considered racist? There's a black couple? It's racist. There's NO black people? It's racist.

Since a lot of the venues where this film and many others would be shown aren't so colorblind so the producers will create regional favourable casting. In the 50's,60's 70's there would be several edits of an film tailored to different reasons in order to avoid offending customers. Now producers add one or two minority characters to get that ethnic group to see the film , because everyone likes to see a face like theirs in a film ( the addition of Brandy Norwood to the I Know What You Did series) For example how often will you see a asian couple? , you'll see an asian girl with a white guy, but an asian male with another asian or otherwise is still pretty rare. Foul as it is there are still places in this country where interracial dating is still looked down on and sorry to say its not just the south either. You see more interracial dating now in the south then in the last decade. The country is an melting pot and that's how we should be seen on the big and small screens.More Blacks , Latinos, Native Americans, Asians, Middle Eastern persons and anybody else I may have missed. There will be some films where the environment will be one where geographically there are no or very few minorities and I guess that is what it is . But the use of token minorities where they're often the only people of color in the entire film is stupid and insulting. I'm tired of minority characters that exist only as cannon fodder, comic relief and to boost ticket sales in minority heavy communities. And the excuse that there are few good minority actors is too stupid to address. Please excuse my rants I tire of Patriotic Americans that scream of the graetness of our history and its beliefs yet things like this still persist. And yes, there far graeter issues that trouble the country but if WE are to defeat them WE must stand together as one.
