Police Procedure

What drove me crazy about the film are the following police screw ups that would NEVER really happen:

- Felon escapes prison and the previous victim would be notified immediately, not three days
- Victim would be taken into protective custody, to an undisclosed location, and guarded by more than 1 or 2 beat officers and a rookie detective
- Victim would have been secured prior to pulling the fire alarm
- After the hotel murders, the victim would not be allowed to just "go home to bed." She'd be at the police station for the next 12-24 hours answering questions/providing statements
- Victim would not be allowed back home, at an address the killer knows, until he's caught

I understand there wouldn't have been a movie, but these factors made me cringe!

Seriously, out of the acting, production, dialogue, music - the police screw-ups annoyed you the most?? The things you mentioned are just a few of the many things wrong with this film!

The most laughable quote was when the uncle said something like "the police said the killer escaped 3 days ago, but they also said that there's no reason why he'd be coming here". Particularly stupid considering he's obsessed with the victim.

I'm not the op, but yes, the Police screw ups was the biggest annoyance for me.
