What was the point of Hermione's torture scene?

Why bother having Bellatrix engrave mudblood on her arm if no one brings it up again?

reply

It was in the book and it was just showing what a sadist she is. What was your issue with it?

reply

The issue is that I liked how it was better in the book. In the book, it was the cruciatus curse and Ron was crying for her. In the movie, it looks like he could care less. And all Bellatrix did was go on top of her. Hermione could have tried to get up.

reply

I highly doubt there was much she could have done, but I won't argue that the books were better. You almost have to read the books or else the movies don't make any sense.

reply

In the movies, Hermione could have tried to fight back and get Bellatrix off her. Just because they're evil doesn't mean they're all powerful.

reply

Bellatrix had no problem using the cruciartis (I know I misspelled that) curse.

reply

But we didn't see her use it in the movie. People who read the books obviously know she did that.

reply

Um she used it on Sirius

reply

Yeah but not in deathly hallows part one. We don't hear her say it. I guess we're just supposed to assume.

reply

Also once again I totally agree the books are better, the movies can't stand on their own if you don't read the books then the movies don't make a whole lot of sense.

reply

cuz its torture is a pleasure for Psychos See Ramsay Bolton with Theon Greyjoy

reply

They needed to show how evil Bellatrix was

reply

I understand that, but the movie did a horrible job of that. She writes "mudblood" in little letters and Hermione could have easily have done a spell against Bellatrix. It shouldn't have mattered if she was on top of her. And then Harry and Ron don't even acknowledge what happened.
