Saw It For the First Time Today

I TiVoed it from Chiller last night (I was watching Dance Moms) and watched it today. I hadn't watched it when it was on originally.

It was cute, but I couldn't quite decide whether I liked it or not. I thought it was a little silly in some ways. Although it's really nothing like Psych, it reminded me of that show because I find it silly (and I find Shawn immature to the point that I don't care for him). Surprisingly enough, I didn't find the Police Squad shows silly or movies like Zorro the Gay Blade. I will watch the second episode tomorrow and see what I think, and I have next week's episodes scheduled to TiVo. I plan to give it a fair chance.

If you stick with it, you'll probably like it. I was pretty ambivalent about it at the start, but after a few episodes, I loved it!

It could take a bit of time to grow on you, but it is very surreal. If you don't like Tim Burton movies odds are this will annoy you eventually, but I found it to be hilarious.

Unfortunately Chi McBride is busy at the moment but we will see how long Golden Boy lasts.

I've now watched the first four episodes. I do enjoy it for the most part except that I can't stand the aunts (and I do like both Swoozie Kurtz and Ellen Greene). I find them poorly written (not poorly acted) and surreal and annoying. I love Chuck, however.

Well I could see how some people might find them a little melodramatic but the show is a bit over the top in everything they do, so a subdued performance from either of them would seem even more jarring and out of place. They actually got more into their stride by the end of the first season so give it some more time.
