In this Bryan Fuller interview, he talks about making a PD movie as a Zombie movie. I hope he's just talking about one scene, but if this gets the movie made, I really don't care.

When the comic was in the works, it was called something like the night of 1000 corpses. Maybe it's a premise, but I think a true zombie movie isn't the right feel for PD. I would love a movie. Still my favorite show ever.
PD always had this cartoonish approach to gore...I think that could work with a zombie movie. Funny but scary and gross.
