Don't want to rain on the parade but:

"When I saw [the campaign] online, I said to my agent immediately, ‘Can we do this with "Pushing Daisies" or "Wonderfalls"?' And he said, 'Pushing Daisies is going to take a lot more than $2 million to make into a movie,'" Fuller told The Hollywood Reporter. "For something like 'Pushing Daisies,' which is more elaborate visually and also would require extensive prosthetics and those sorts of complicating production elements, it’s a little more daunting.”

You have to have all of the original cast, a really good script and a director that worked on the series or it'll be another crappy Dead Like Me movie.

I also found this:

Fuller went on to put a $10 million price tag on a Pushing Daisies movie. I fear that would consign a Kickstarter attempt to failure, at least if the entire budget would be dependant on pledges. I’m pretty sure the fan base for Daisies, as much as I’m personally fond of it, is much smaller than the one for Veronica Mars and I don’t think even this record-breaker of a scheme is going to get near $10 million.

I agree with the person that wrote this article. The studio would definitely have to put up some kind of money (maybe they could match the final Kickstarter campaign amount). Veronica Mars was fully funded in about 6 hours and they've only gained another million and a half since then. I feel like if they announced a Pushing Daisies campaign the same thing would happen where all the fans rush in and donate and it gains really fast but unless we're willing to put up more money (Because the fanbase is a bit smaller), we may be SOL.

I only got into Pushing Daisies this year but I really want to see a movie happen so if they do announce a Kickstarter campaign I'll donate what I can but I hope even non-fans are willing to donate so we can finally get a movie!

Where do I send my money lol.

I would give in a heartbeat but damn, 10 mill is a lot and I don't see the Veronica Mars or Zach Braff ones getting close to that number so I too think PD would fall short. Why couldn't they do a 2 hr made for TV for a few mill but that's just wishful thinking on my part.

reply

There's no way they could get fans to raise between 10-15 mill for it. I think people who want to kickstart this should at least fork over some of their own money. The actors as well if they're really wanting it.

You couldn't rely on fans alone.

You would think killing people would make them like you but it doesn't. It just makes them dead.
