If a movie gets made... let Tim Burton direct...

It certainly suits his macabre, hyper-reality style.

Oh hell no

I understand. Thank you for telling me. -The masked bandit

Barry Sonnenfeld would be a better choice. He directed the Pie-lette and Dummy episodes of the series. He was also a producer on the series.

If not Barry, Wes Anderson could prove a fun choice.

reply

Interesting no one likes him, as the whole style of the show seems based off his stylisation; from visuals to characters and even story matter. I actually thought he had something to do with the production of this show when I first saw it. ...

Barry, or Joe Dante.

i thought that the style was inspired by the film amelie?

To be fair, people love old school Tim Burton, I think it would be more accurate to say that nobody likes him anymore... apart from Disney, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter... or what you might call the reasons why Tim Burton became a different sort of director... I wonder what kind of director he would be, had he stayed with Lisa Marie (his former muse)...

Still, it's not like Bryan Fuller is an incompetent director, I love his work and only he should direct a PD movie, should it happen one day (fingers crossed!!!)

This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible. This was terrible with raisins in it. - DP

Burton has dried up. If this were fifteen or twenty years ago, sure. But his movies are now soulless, cliched studio drivel.

reply

No because ned would be replaced with Johnny depp and chuck and/or olive would be replaced with HBC

Burton is one of my favorite directors, I even admire Anderson and his work, but they cannot direct the (possible) movie. Pushing Daisies has its unizue style and that's what makes it so great; bringing in said directors who already have an established style would just ruin the series

reply

No. Jeez. No. This is a terrible idea. Shame on you OP. Shame.

reply

As the Late Great Whitney Houston use to say " hell to the naw" I'm a big TB fan Beetlejuice is one of all time favorite but no!

reply

It took me far too long to realize that TB stood for Tim Burton, not True Blood.

reply

Tim Burton has not been Tim Burton in a long time. If they ever made more Pushing Daisies then I would only want the original crew. Bryan Fuller is listed as the creator and you can see Barry Sonnenfelds fingerprints all over it. I would accept no substitute.

reply

Yeah, gonna go with a big Lana Kane 'N-ope!' on this one.

reply

Oh hell no! Original crew only. The show's imagery and style is absolutely gorgeous; the originals knew exactly what they were doing. With anyone else, it wouldn't have the same feel nor would it be as good.
