Why was he removed from the BBC America schedule? **He is back!!!

I can't find anything at BBC America's website, but they have replaced his show this Saturday with the film From Hell. I noticed on my DVR that they also replaced him the following week. Have they removed the show forever? My husband and I have been watching him for years now. I was looking forward to the show with Olivia Colman and David Tennant.

i'm in canada, and even though it does come on bbc canada (well, it did anyways, i dunno about now, maybe it's gone from the canadian one) i always still watch the new episodes online.... youtube or primewire

It's mercy, compassion and forgiveness I lack. Not rationality...

reply

Thanks! I planned on doing YouTube since he was removed, but was curious why it happened so short notice. BBC America still shows a page for him with his normal time, but the schedule at the site shows he is no longer being shown. I often watch Jonathan Ross and Chatty Man on YT, but now I'll be searching for Graham each week.

reply

Wonder what is going on. I was really looking forward to tonight's episode and it just dissapeared from my DVR recording list and can't find it on the schedule at all. Can't find any news about why either.

reply

I can't find anything either. I couldn't find last night's episode on YouTube either, but did find the episode that would have aired next Saturday. A few years ago, there was a forum at BBC America's website, but it doesn't appear to be there anymore. I'm going to send a message here:

If I receive a reply, I will come back and post it for those of us missing Graham's show.

reply

I emailed BBCA as well. Will post anything I find out!

reply

Have you received a reply yet? I noticed this morning that the 1/31 show is again missing from my DVR schedule and it shows a Doctor Who repeat airing instead of Graham.

reply

I just received a reply from BBC America. Here is a copy/paste:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We are pleased to inform you that "The Graham Norton Show" will air "Saturday Jan 31 at 10:15pm/9:15c" on BBC America.

As always, for the most updated information about what is airing on BBC America, we recommend visiting the 'TV Schedule' page on our website, BBCAmerica.com/schedule.

I see it's also back on my schedule for that date but I wonder what happened and will it happen again? I still need to find and watch the one (or 2) I missed. They will probably re-air it sometime but who knows when.

reply

I found them on YouTube, but some are sped up like putting a record on the wrong RPM. I watched three as we have been receiving them a week behind the UK schedule. I watched S16 E14 thru E16.

reply

What is going on with this show on BBCA? Tonight's 10:15pm slot is now the Doctor Who 2014 Christmas episode. So much for BBCA "viewer relations".

reply

I'm going to send them another message and see what reply I receive this time. Next week's episode was on my DVR, but disappeared. I think they have removed it from their schedule.

Edit to add that I just sent them this message:

I wrote to you last month to ask if The Graham Norton Show had been removed from the schedule. Richard from Viewer Relations wrote back that Graham Norton would return last night at 10:15. He did not return and next week's show has also been removed from my DVR. Have you decided to permanently remove him from BBCA's scheduling? Thank you for your assistance.

I will post when I have another response.

reply

I noticed mine dissapeared too. Wierd they tell you it will be back on, the DVR says it's on, then it disappears again. Frustrating.

reply

I noticed this morning that my 2/14 show has now also disappeared. I have heard no response from BBC America. The original request I sent was answered within 48 business hours (normal time for a response from places I worked for in the past when dealing with customers). Since I have had no response this time and it's been almost a week, I doubt I'm getting a reply. Perhaps the ratings weren't good enough here.

Weird that they can show endless repeats of Top Gear and Gordon Ramsay shows, but there is no place on the schedule for Graham Norton. If I ever do have any reply, I'll return and post it.

reply

I just received a reply! Here it is:

We regret any confusion the change in schedule has caused but at present The Graham Norton Show is not airing on the channel.

Now that BBCA have **FINALLY** acquired the rights to air "Qi"(2/19/15 @8PM), I hope is not the reason TGNS is not airing as of late.

I don't care about Ripper Street, Orphan Black, or Copper, just make sure both Qi, and the Graham Norton show can co-exist on BBCA. If anyone doesn't know what "Qi" is just do a quick search on Youtube. It's the best game panel show ever created.

This may have something to do with why BBCAmerica is no longer airing the UK talk show. If this article is true, I don't know what to think.

Mmm that's interesting. I was first introduced to The Graham Norton show when he was on Comedy Central about 9 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since. His show on CC didn't last long. Either because of low ratings or he didn't want to be restricted by the US strict censor rules

No matter where he goes I'll watch. I love GN

reply

He is back this weekend. His show was in the BBC America e-mail I received this week. I also saw a commercial when watching Broadchurch.

reply

I understand why they held back the David Tennant Olivia Coleman GN episode until the second series of Broadchurch aired on BBCA. What I don't understand is why they didn't air the other five weeks?
