why did the asian woman lie for the guy (spoilers)

at the convenience store, i think the woman knew there were 5 guys..so whats going on? why did she lie for him?

reply

Because she was about to be executed, and he saved her. He also saved the last robber by giving him a chance. She heard their conversation, and understood what he did for the kid.

"Are you serving that ape a Martini ?"

wow.. not a lot of people are grateful like that. he was lucky..but she was luckier.

I thought this scene was pretty unrealistic. Why would a woman be motivated to lie to a pack of police? The other witness is telling the truth. I think in reality, I don't see why she would take the risk of lying. So many people these days watch CSI, they know that ballistics tests and forensics might end up revealing his lie. I would not put myself in a place where I could be accused of perjury. Movies...

To each their own...opinion

Movies don't need to be fully realistic to a tee man.

Actually, thinking about your post it's ironic that you use tv shows as proof of how thorough forensics testing is. These CSI shows aren't awfully realistic.

Also, when it comes to cop testimony CSI wouldn't even really bother. It's open and shut.

I think she also realized that he had saved the store owner's life as well as the life of the gunman. It was a no-win situation where they might both have ended up getting their heads blown off, so he defused it by offering the kid a deal.

In Asian culture if someone saves your life they become like your kin. She was siding with him because it was the honorable thing to do.
