I am trying to find this film to watch it. But I have one question I would like to know the answer to. How could the corrupt cop's wife adopt a child without the support of a two parent family. Also would they not consider what crimes her husband was committing as barrier. Can someone explain the process she went through. was the adoption process filmed.
shareIt was not shown but I would assume that she would have had to divorce him first and adopt the girl as a single parent. I don't know every state's adoption laws but there are definitely states that do allow single parents to adopt.

She was a lawyer, and they had no hard evidence that there was ever a deal. I assumed she got him off the charge provided he agreed to the adoption because that was what she wanted.
