Declaration of love to CiNeMa

Pedro Almodovar has said Los Abrazos Rotos is his declaration of love to cinema. Since the movie has many, many references to other films. Would you like to write the movies you think he is refering to ? for me there are some: Un chien andalou, Elevator to the gallows, Gentlemen prefer blondes, Voyage to Italy, Pepping Tom, Women on the verge, Laberinto de pasiones, Talk to her, Kika, Átame, Volver, Working Girl, Belle de Jour, Bad Education, Matador, Rear Window and other Hitchcocks, Lust, Caution, Le Scafandre et le Papillon, All about my mother, Wait until dark, Powell' s Black Narcissus, american and european film noir...

In the last scene of "All about my mother" the director said the film is dedicated to women, to actresses... Consecuently, Penelope Cruz looks in Los Abrazos refer to Audrey Hepburn, Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren, Marilyn, Barbara Stanwick, Joan Crawford, Jeanne Moreau...

in addition to being a declaration of Pedro's love to cinema, Los Abrazos Rotos is a film that "hugs' all of his filmography too. There are elements of every movie he's made in this one.even small details are homage to his cinematographic elements.and combined with the short film La consejala Antropófaga, he even reaches his first period of Pepi Luci Bom.

i also love the references to his fave directors. Fellini, Nicholas Ray,...
