I forgot to mention the scenes featuring Lola Dueñas as a lip reader amongst the best scenes from the movie.
They reminded me the opening sequence in 'Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios' (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) where some actors are dubbing a movie proyected on a screen.
Considering the numerous references to WotVoaNB found in 'Broken Embraces', I am sure it's no coincidence, It was carefully planned by Pedro.

She was so concise and profesional at all times, lol! I loved seeing so many ladies from Volver in RADICALLY different characters, which really shows what talented actresses they are!

Lola Dueñas is one of my favorite familiar faces from Almodóvar's stable of top-notch talent. I've loved her since "Talk to Her." Her role is relatively small here, but she's absolutely mesmerizing.
