Eloise Spann

Does anyone know anything about her other than what is in this film? There is no listing in imdb, as far as I can tell, and the internet seems to list just the mention of her in this documentary. Was she in feature-length films at all?

reply

It just mentioned that she was a contract singer. I don't know that it gives any names of films. In the documentary it states that the studio that owns all of Eloise Spann's films refused to release any footage of her. I don't know how they would have covered up every bit of information about her, but it seems they did.

I'm wondering the same thing. I think that was one of the most interesting parts of the whole film. The interview with her son just... got to me. Wow.

Me, too--I cannot figure out why the studio would STILL refuse to release any footage of her. It's beyond creepy. I was really looking forward to hearing her sing! At least the son got to. So sad.

Amazing how mention is made in "Girl 27" how the studio that owns her films will not allow any footage to be shown in the documentary. Yet, IMDB only lists "Girl 27" as a film credit. Evidently, there are some films in which she appeared. After all, her son was watching one of her movies, in the documentary. Is it that no one here knows of any of Miss Spann's film appearances? What's that all about?

If they released her films, they might be used in court if any of her heirs want to sue.
