shareAlthough this film was not oscar material, Ms. Douglas getting raped is not 'crap'. It was a real event that occured to a real person that led to serious issues in this woman's life and all those that touched her life as well............... That should be the issue here, not how much the film was liked by everyone. The main point still got across to the viewer regardless........

Uh.... your point is moot, or even contradictory, for stating that. Have you ever even WATCHED Beyond the Valley....? It had an excellent plotline, great performances by most of the cast (especially from John Lazar and Harrison Page), a FANTASTIC soundtrack written and recorded by Stu Phillips (the original Knightrider score-master), vivid Fox 70's colors and set designs, an outstanding wardrobe; everything basically a "campy/cult-classic" film from the year 1970 SHOULD BE.
And if you think this documentarian is THAT BAD, please, go watch Tarnation. Now THERE is a pathetic/slimy/pretentious "filmmaker" if I ever saw one.
