I Heard Pixar Originally Wanted No Dialog

I had heard or read that the original script had virtually no dialog, and went pretty much like the entire first act.

I would have loved that, but guess the story would have been completely different.

Does anyone know if that's true?

I don't know if it's true, but it would have been interesting. This is a great movie.
