His name is Owain Hughes yeah?

Think, "Owe Wayne Hughes"? As in, "Do you owe Wayne Hughes anything?"

No, I don't...

"Hey there Stewie, I got just what you always wanted"
"A dead Lois?"

Agree with the Peter Kaye and getting too big for his boots. Max and Paddy, Gereldine and his X-Factor stuff was terrible but a least he WAS funny once. I have just never seen the appeal of G & S.

You made some very good points Markbc-2 and agree we all see things differently. Its good that some posters dont resort to abuse and name calling if they dont agree with someones point of view.

Its just when people say how funny it is I feel non plussed or like Im missing some big in joke

With many shows, not just G & S, it seems to be what I call "The Emporers New Clothes Syndrome" One critic will say how fantastic, funny, clever Etc a show is and the rest follow on.

The public, to a greater or lesser degree buy in to it all and tune in. Im sure you have heard people say "Im watching such and such tonight, the papers say its really good" and when you tune in you cant understand the fuss.

I think Corden beleives his own hype, the terrible sketch show and awful stint with Horden as presenter of the Brits seem to show his co-writer is the real talent in the team.

I understand your sentiments abou PK. Some of his early live stuff was the funny, down to earth comedy from a man who had a regular upbringing and related to his audience. Now he is a multi millionaire, how can he relate?

It is used as a play on words for other names... welsh comedian/entertainer Owen Money (Owing Money) etc..
