What was the 'Worst / Weakest' bit of Breaking Bad ?

It's is Great Show, but nothing is 100% perfect...

To me it was Lydia and the Stevia, always makes me cringe a bit, and to have that right at the end of the show is something I always kind of ignore.

It was just So Signposted that it was going to happen.

I know I'm gonna get flack for saying this, but I think Bryan Cranston is just an OK actor. He's way too melodramatic imho. With so-called iconic scenes like "I am the Danger!" and "Say my NAME" I always laugh at those scenes, but a majority of fans cream their panties.

If you've seen Cranston outside of this TV series you'll see he's passable as a supporting character actor and nothing more.

Yeah, I agree with that assessment. He is generally great as WW, but when I recently re-watched BB there are some times when I am reminded it is a cheesy TV action show. He really seems to think he is one of the greats.

reply

The reason he works so well as WW is that he as that TV Dad panache that reminds me of Walter Cleaver or Alan Thicke. The show's success was its ability to subvert expectations (borrowing from the Douchey D&D team form GoT). It did run thin though when AMC and Gilligan rode the series out a couple of more seasons.

I thought the idea of Jesse selling meth to people in NA meetings was really stupid. And I didn't like that fly episode either.

It's called filler. ;-)

Bad filler

I watched this again ... and I probably would not have watched it to begin with if there was anything else out there and I had not heard about it on NPR and been curious. It was compelling and a new idea, but I don't think it was that good. It is like Hollywood has figured out all the things they need to do to get people to watch stuff, and only later do we realize it's all pretty much garbage and a waste of time. Not all of it, but we are fighting a country where the average member of society does not vote, and many of them are complete idiots. We should be making much better use of media.

What are you even talking about? What's that have to do with Breaking Bad??

English as a third language?

Nevermind

Walt Jr/Flynn never had much to do on the show.

The last season imo. I think it kind of just went on unnecessarily because it was a popular show. At the end of season 4 they had got out and many of the story lines had been tied up. I also think the ending of the season finale was outstanding, showing how far Walter was willing to go. I didn't think season 5 was bad by any means, but I think it was the weakest entry not counting El Camino.
