Heisenberg
He was a physicist.
shareAnd?
shareYeah, you’d think a chemist would choose the name of a renowned chemist as his pseudonym.
share"Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle states that there is inherent uncertainty in the act of measuring a variable of a particle. Commonly applied to the position and momentum of a particle, the principle states that the more precisely the position is known the more uncertain the momentum is and vice versa." -- https://chem.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Physical_and_Theoretical_Chemistry_Textbook_Maps/Supplemental_Modules_(Physical_and_Theoretical_Chemistry)/Quantum_Mechanics/02._Fundamental_Concepts_of_Quantum_Mechanics/Heisenberg%27s_Uncertainty_Principle
Always thought Heisenberg was chosen by the show to represent the uncertainty and lack of control despite characters attempting to control for many variables in their plans. At the time Walter chose the name, he was an uncertainty to those who were underestimating him.
Good analysis! The writers are brilliant and intentional in attaching deep symbolism to all sorts of factors in this show. Makes it a very rewatchable series. Yet “Heisenberg” is also an awesome name for a badass. Who can forget that BB iconic scene when he declared himself Heisenberg and threw down that exploding crystal, then walked away from the chaos with a bag of cash and a new reputation.
